We gave you a little peek into what was to come with The Outpost, when we launched Generation T in October 2016. Well, no need to wait a moment is here! The multi talented Jam Acuzar, both businesswoman and patron of the arts, just opened The Outpost by Bellas Artes Projects.

Acuzar founded the non-profit, Bellas Artes Projects (BAP) in 2013 as a passion project. She has always loved art and could not wait to share it with the country. She created BAP to enrich the Filipino’s experience. BAP is an organization that curates exhibitions for the public to interact with – hoping that everyone can develop their own relationship with the arts. They aim to educate audiences and enhance art appreciation. BAP embraces experimental and contemporary works, combining this with Filipino heritage and tradition such as with Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar in Bataan.

In order to make these experiences more accessible, Acuzar opened The Outpost in Makati. It is a non-commercial art space which will house exhibitions and has a unique art library that guests can peruse. The space is in effect a museum but more so,  a kunsthalle . “People can expect exhibitions with world-renowned and local artists, art talks or dialogues, and live performances in our salon for everyone to enjoy. We want to celebrate art and we invite everyone to be part of this community” says Acuzar.

The Outpost will host 4 exhibitions a year. The space is currently exhibiting works by Mexican artist Carlos Amorales and will be holding several programs. Looking forward to it all!
