The Metropolitan Museum of Manila expressed its utmost gratitude to the incumbent Governor of Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, Hon. Amando Tetangco Jr. in the recently held reception at the MET for its newest exhibition titled Distinct Refinements: Painting from the Provinces. Featured in this exhibit are artworks from the collection of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, complemented by unique pieces loaned from institutions and private collectors.
During the Opening Program, led by the Board of Trustees of the museum, the MET presented a token of appreciation to Governor Tetangco, a collage composed of his photos gathered from significant events the he graced at the museum. This said gift was given by the Chairperson of the MET Board of Trustees, Joselito Campos, Jr. together with Tina Colayco (MET President), Doris Magsaysay Ho (Vice Chairperson of the MET Board of Trustees) and Dr. Jaime Laya (Treasurer, MET Board of Trustees) on behalf of the entire Metropolitan Museum of Manila family. In a special farewell message for Governor Tetangco, addressed by MET Chairman Campos, the MET honors the unfailing support of the BSP in all the museum’s exhibitions and programs on the duration Governor Tetangco’s term. Through his leadership, “the BSP has strengthened its role as an enabler for the promotion and development of local art and culture, through the different projects that the BSP has organized with the MET.”
The program culminated with a ceremonial toast led by Doris Magsaysay Ho, honouring the two sterling terms of Governor Tetangco, and at the same time, welcoming BSP Governor Designate Nestor Espenilla, Jr. A ribbon-cutting rite immediately followed, with BSP Governor Tetangco as the guest of honor, together with BSP Governor Designate Nestor Espenilla Jr., Dr. Virgilio Almario, National Artist for Literature and Chairperson of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, and the Trustees of the MET Board.
