In lieu of a 60th birthday bash, our Managing Director, Irene Martel Francisco, held a cocktail fundraiser for MovEd Foundation, raising over 2.2 million pesos!
MovEd Foundation is a non profit organization that works to provide early childhood education (pre-kindergarten) to marginalised communities around The Philippines. The charity also has a health program and a family care center, which has a goal of zero malnutrition among MovEd students, and educating parents or guardians on how to better care for their families, respectively. The MovEd foundation has a holistic approach to the wellness and the development Filipino children. It only costs 1000 pesos a month or 10,000 pesos a year to send a child to school, including uniform, daily feeding and education!
The cocktail charity auction was held at Raffles and Fairmont Makati, the partner for this event. A select group of guests were welcomed by warm lighting, our cocktail Spotify playlist and a fantastic gin bar that was stocked with: Ungava Candadian Premium Gin, No.3 London Dry Gin, and Raffles 1915 Sip Smith Gin. Before entering the venue, on display were the auction lots. Guests enjoyed the bountiful spread of fresh seafood, a pasta and risotto station and carvings of roast beef and porchetta while waiting for the program to begin. Ten incredible items were up for grabs and were auctioned off by Salcedo Auctions’ Richie Lerma:
There were 4 trips to our countries best islands and resorts: Dedon Island in Siargao, Shangri-La Mactan in Cebu, Club Paradise in Palawan and Kandaya in Cebu. Two top-notch art pieces were generously donated: a print from Anita Magsaysay-Ho and a one of a kind assemblage that Kenneth Cobonpue made just for this event. 2 rare Bollinger champagne bottles, in unique James Bond locked cases were available too. If jewellerey and watches are up your alley, then the two intricate necklaces from JJ Jiao and Riqueza, and the bespoke watches from Undone would have been dream acquisitions!
The evening was incredibly successful, raising around 2.2 million pesos. This means that as of that evening, 220 children will be able to attend quality pre kindergarten education at a MovEd facility, for one whole year!
