The Metropolitan Museum of Manila, together with the French Embassy and the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, hosted an intimate reception at the museum’s Tall Galleries in celebration of the exhibition Brave New Worlds: My Utopia in Your Dystopia. Curated by painter Manuel Ocampo, who is renowned for capturing pop sub-cultures on his canvasses, the show featured 50 contemporary artworks created by artists of Filipino and European origin. Their works aim to reflect and make sense of the moral, ideological, and environmental degradation a society faces. Other art enthusiasts who joined the festivities were French artist Fabrice Hyber and French Ambassador Gilles Garachon. Hyber participated in a meet-and-greet session at the met on May 21, 2014 and showcased four of his works during the event.
