Discovery Shores Boracay’s Corporate Social Responsibility program, “Together for Water”, was launched last March 14, 2017 during World Water Day. Hotel Manager Erwin Lopez and his team, raised funds to donate 60 water filters to the Ati Chieftain Vicente Elorde and to the 120 households of Sitio Carla, Barangay Cubay Sur, Malay, Aklan.

Jenica Dizon, Director of Operations of Waves for Water, delivered a comprehensive talk about the importance of clean water as well its overall positive effects to the body to the community. This was followed by an interactive demonstration of the Sawyer water filters--from installation, usage to cleaning-- while being assisted by more than forty volunteers from the resort.

 “We are celebrating our 10th year anniversary, and more than ever, it is our responsibility to give back to our community,” said Erwin Lopez. “It is vital that the Ati community and the families of Sitio Carla have access to sustainable, clean water and it is our dream that more communities enjoy the same benefit.”

The Company’s fundraising program, “Change for Water” is currently open to guests and employees to donate their loose change and bills. Each water filter costs PHP 2,500 each and can positively impact up to one hundred people. It is the company’s vision that all of its hotels and resorts give back to its respective communities by 2017.
