This year’s MaArte Fair reinvents itself as it channels early 2000s Malate’s classic open house parties at Syquia Apartments

MaArte Fair, the much-anticipated fundraiser annually hosted by non-profit organisation Museum Foundation of the Philippines, is back for its 11th edition on 16 to 18 August at The Peninsula Manila. A venue for local artisans and entrepreneurs to showcase their craft, the fair brings together a wide array of limited-edition items, from food to fashion and home décor.

This year’s fair is dubbed as “MaArte oPEN House,” a play on its collaboration with The Pen, which also hints on how it differs from previous editions. Inspired by the open-door parties held at Syquia Apartments in Malate from early 2000s, MaArte Fair will be adapting the similar concept: 29 guest rooms at The Pen will be used for the event, where exhibitors will be spread out and have the opportunity to interact with shoppers and sell their pieces at a more intimate space.
