We have highlighted so many top personalities through the years, so for our 15th anniversary, we asked 12 of them how they felt being on the cover of the Philippine Tatler.

“My heartfelt congratulations to the Philippine Tatler for being the gold standard of luxury lifestyle magazines in the country for 15 years! I am deeply grateful for the very memorable cover story photographed in my New York home. The experience was truly special and the feature was a highlight of my fashion life!”

“I wish to send my heartfelt congratulations to the Tatler team on the occasion of your 15th anniversary! 15 years of incredible work and many more exciting things to come—wishing you continued success!

Tatler has always celebrated our collective sense of social responsibility and I was honoured to be featured in your September 2012 issue (alongside Margarita Delgado). I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to pursue our conversation on inclusive education in the Philippines and our intention to contribute to this discussion through our work with Teach for the Philippines. Your feature created broader awareness on our work, and being the beneficiary of the Tatler Ball allowed us to initiate our work at Teach for the Philippines. Immense thanks to the Tatler team!

What I do remember from the Tatler shoot was how much hard work and professionalism went into it. It’s very tough work being a model but even harder to be a photographer and stylist—more kudos to the Tatler team!”

“Congratulations on your anniversary, Philippine Tatler! What an amazing achievement—15 years of wonderful coverage and great interviews! I was honoured to be on the cover a few years ago. It was shot at the Manila Polo Club, which is such a special place—Manila is one of the few cities in the world with a polo field in the middle of town. A real luxury! I had the best time in Manila; I hope to be back really soon.”

“It is always a wonderful experience working with the Philippine Tatler team. The May 2015 cover was one of my most memorable experiences. I am grateful to the magazine— especially to Irene Martel Francisco, Anton San Diego, and Chit Lijauco—for its immense support for our important initiatives for Philippine arts and culture. It supported our return to the Venice Art Biennale in 2015 and first participation in the Venice Architecture Biennale this year by featuring the two events on its covers.”

“Congratulations to 15 years of being our society’s barometer of coolness and relevance! Very few publications can hold a candle to you in content, print quality, layout, and advertising reach. Keep on raising the bar higher. I remember being given a choice of photographers for my cover and BJ Pascual was the only newbie on the list. He had just come back from New York and I took an immediate liking to his work. He had never shot a cover for Tatler and I was impressed how editor-in-chief Anton San Diego let him run with the layouts and shots, never doubting his skill and creativity. The resulting feature was one of the best I ever had.”

“Congratulations on turning 15! For me, the Philippine Tatler is undoubtedly the best Philippine magazine. It always has fascinating articles and upcoming fashion trends which I love to read. I was asked to come out on the cover while working for the Metropolitan Museum; I enjoyed both experiences enormously. Your Tatler Balls are not only fun, but also meaningful because they give to worthy charity institutions. Thank you for making me part of the Tatler family!”

“I enjoyed very much shooting for Philippine Tatler magazine; I felt very comfortable. I like the elegance and naturalness with which they showcase different luxury lifestyles. And the fact that the shoot was in the Philippines was just perfect. I had the chance to meet great people, and I got the opportunity to know a great country. I hope I can come back. Thank you Tatler for allowing me be part of your history. Happy 15th anniversary! Keep it up!”

“It is always a pleasure to do a cover for the Philippine Tatler. I have been on the cover several times, and each time with a wonderful theme that is always so imaginative. I have known its editorin- chief Anton San Diego for 25 years; he is always a gentleman who takes pride in his work—a true artist. Cheers to another 15 years! Happy Anniversary, Tatler!”

Philippine Tatler, for the past 15 years, has been the Vogue/Vanity Fair/House and Garden all in one in the country. It leads even in Asia in its creative features on fashion, personalities, and chic places, be it private residences, restaurants, product introduction, or cultural events. Bravo, Philippine Tatler!”

Nigel Barker
Photographer

“From my first editorial assignment with Tatler—shooting Anna Bayle at Studio NB in New York City my love affair with Tatler and the Philippines began. This led to several trips to Manila to collaborate with Anton San Diego, who quickly became a good friend. The aesthetic that he brought to the magazine resonated with me, and every shoot we have worked on together has been a pleasure. There are many photographs that I am proud of, such as those from our bestselling issue featuring Pia Wurtzbach. Congratulations on 15 years! I look forward to celebrating your 30th with you, too.”

“I would like to thank the Philippine Tatler, Irene Martel Francisco, and Anton San Diego, for 15 years of publishing this world-class magazine that Filipinos can be really proud of. It is a complete source of what I need to know about what’s going on in Philippine high society. Although I don’t party much, I’m abreast with what’s “in” when I do go out. I especially love the travel sections because I use it as my personal guide on which hip places to go.

Being on the cover of the Philippine Tatler together with my gorgeous Belo stars to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Belo medical group was one of the highlights of my life. It was unforgettable because Anton was able to get world-famous photographer Nigel Barker for the project. As I stood back and watched Nigel photograph the Belo stars, I realised that I had, indeed, made it in my profession and heard a voice whisper, “Well done, my child!” I believe that I have fulfilled my mission on earth, which is to make people happy by helping them be the best versions of themselves.

“Congratulations on your 15th! What a milestone! Philippine Tatler has evolved to be No 1 in its category.

Philippine Tatler showcases the lifestyles of the refined in a balanced format. It gives everyone the opportunity to preview style, and be inspired by its interesting features.

Thank you for featuring Budji+Royal on the August 2015 issue. It was an honour to be in the first ever Design issue, and share with your readers the story of NAIA Terminal 1. The overwhelming feedback from Filipinos all over the world shows that the bayanihan spirit is very much alive.

We had fun collaborating with a truly artistic photographer, and a very talented and professional team. Our friends from Turkey, US, Singapore, and France enjoyed perusing their copies.

Thank you, Philippine Tatler for promoting modern Filipino architecture and design! We look forward to collaborating with you on future design issues.”
