Loved by generations of performance enthusiasts for its charm, looks, and engineering savvy, Jaguar once more impresses with F-TYPE Coupé—a true, two-seat sports car focused on performance, agility and driver involvement.
A product of sky’s-the-limit engineering and automotive innovation, the F-TYPE Coupé is the most dynamically capable, performance-focused sports car that Jaguar has ever made. The pinnacle luxury sports car is powered by a 550 PS, five-liter supercharged V8 engine that reaches zero to one hundred kilometers per hour in 4.2 seconds. Supercharged for exhilarating performance, the F-TYPE R Coupé is also super efficient, thanks to the technologies incorporated into it, including spray-guided direct injection (SGDI) and dual independent variable cam timing (DIVCT). Jaguar spared no expense in ensuring the best possible high-speed driving experience. The F-TYPE R Coupé is fitted with Jaguar’s Adaptive Dynamics system that actively controls vertical body movement, roll and pitch rates. The F-TYPE S Coupé, on the other hand, boast V6-supercharged-powered engine that can reach a speed of zero to 100 kph in about 4.9 seconds. Standard features include sports suspension and Jaguar’s Performance Braking system.
The F-TYPE Coupé line-up is lightweight. Jaguar’s expertise in aluminum technology has enabled the F-TYPE Coupé to be low mass without sacrificing a strong bodyshell. Jaguar has done away with B-pillars for the F-TYPE Coupé to establish a low roofline and a dramatically sleek body. This was achieved by using a single piece of high--strength, hydro-formed aluminum alloy, possibly the most extreme cold-formed aluminum body side in the automotive industry. This has also eliminated the need for multiple panels and cosmetic joints.
Visual appeal is fundamental to Jaguar. The F-TYPE Coupé builds on the design of its stunning C-X16 concept sports coupé and the F-TYPE Convertible, which won the 2013 World Car Design of the Year award.
Jaguar F-TYPE coupés is built to satisfy any car enthusiast’s need for speed and take a load at the same time. The F-TYPE Coupé has up to 407-litres of boot space—enough to accommodate two sets of golf clubs or a set of luggage for a long weekend getaway.
Car experts say that creating a sports coupé and getting it done all the way from concept car to commercial production is the purest of design tasks as it starts with imagining and re-imagining what can be. But far from the rubber-burning, noise-generating, gas guzzlers of the past, the Jaguar F-TYPE Coupé is fuel efficient—with mileage as high as 14 kilometers per liter of gasoline. Moreover, up to half of the aluminum that makes up the alloy for its body comes from recycled metal. Jaguar has also made use of a production process that emits up to 80 percent less carbon emissions than in regular welding.
With its F-TYPE Coupé, Jaguar has created automotive art and produced a car that is every driver’s dream.
