Black Sheep has prepared a weeklong event for cocktail enthusiasts.

Black Sheep, the bar and restaurant that features a view of the metro’s skyline, will be having a cocktail week from July 28 to August 2.

Cocktail is defined as an iced beverage of wine or distilled liquor mixed with flavouring ingredients that conceal the strong bitter taste of alcohol. History is filled to the brim with cocktail concoctions though no definite record details the inventor, location, and procedure of developing the world’s first cocktail. One thing is certain; everyone has his or her preferred mix. The Romans were said to combine vini gallici, lemon juice, and a pinch of dried adder. In the 1820s the Puerto Rican pirate Roberto Cofresi served his restless crew a concoction of pineapple, coconut, and sugar-cane spirit. While orchestrating a defeat against the Nazis, Winston Churchill downed a mix of simple gin and vermouth.

To promulgate an appreciation for cocktails, on Monday and Tuesday, Black Sheep will provide creative liquor enthusiasts their own DIY (do it yourself) kits that include a complimentary juice, fizz, cordials, and garnish. To celebrate the middle day of the week, two house cocktails could be purchased for the price of one. Thursday is for aficionados to indulge in limited local cocktails. Audacious drinkers will be given an opportunity to make their own cocktails on Friday and Saturday.

Flock to Black Sheep and cheer the blend of life’s sourness and sweetness. It was Francis Scott Fitzgerald who said, “Here's to alcohol, the rose-coloured glasses of life.”
