It’s finally October, which means there will be free-flowing beer and savoury German cuisine to dig into as Manila and other parts of the country celebrate the world’s largest beer festival – the Oktoberfest.

What began as a wedding celebration of then-Bavarian Crown Prince Ludwig and Princess in October 1810 is now an annual festivity observed not only in Munich, Germany but all across the globe. The wedding was celebrated with several days of drinking, feasting, horse races, and lively music. More than 200 years later, it became largely associated with flowing pints of beer and the Bavarian culture.

The German Club promises the most authentic beer festival as they set up a big tent with an expansive biergarten at Solaire Resort and Casino from 17 to 19 October for their 81st Oktoberfest. Indulge in an endless stretch of sumptuous Bavarian feast, unlimited Weihenstephaner Beer, German traditions, and exciting raffle prizes. The Bavarian Sound Express will also return to the Philippines for their 16th Oktoberfest stint, bringing musical delight to the evening’s colourful festivities.

For this year’s Oktoberfest, Brotzeit has prepared a special menu of your Bavarian favourites! Feast on the Oktoberfest Mixed Board Platter featuring charcuterie and cheese with Obatzda served with breadsticks and radishes; a metre-long paprika-cheese sausage; and authentic Oktoberfest beer! Mark your calendars because San Miguel has planned lively nights filled with good music and its famous beer brands -- Red Horse Beer, San Miguel Pale Pilsen, San Mig Light, San Miguel Flavoured Beer, San Miguel Super Dry, San Miguel Premium All-Malt, Cerveza Negra, Gold Eagle Beer, and San Mig Zero.
