With Mother’s Day (May 12) just around the corner and—lest you forget—Father’s Day being right on its heels (June 16), the tradition of High Tea is a lovely (and absolutely scrumptious!) way to celebrate the special people in your life.
On offer until the end of June, the Veuve Clicquot champagne Afternoon Tea at the Raffles Makati Writers Bar is bound to colour your post meridian hours with bubbles of fun and fill you up with heavenly sweets and savoury treats.
Standouts from the dreamy three-tier medley are the salmon and dill tartlet as well as the Parmesan sable and pumpkin custard tart. The chocolate and champagne-infused macarons are to die for as are the sinful dark chocolate and Marc de Champagne-infused lollipops topped off with gold leaf. As per strict British standards go, no authentic high tea is complete, however, without the requisite scones and clotted cream and mandatory finger sandwiches (theirs is an artisanal version with mango and cucumber).
