Event stylists Robert Blancaflor and Maria Parsons were each tasked to create two distinct themes for two types of couples. On these pages, you'll find all the sparkle, flora, love and romance you could ever wish for

This elegant oriental-inspired set-up by Robert Blancaflor was composed of grand, colourful details balanced out with minimalist glamour. A ceiling of hanging Holland gladiolas intermingle with different types of hanging lamps and lanterns and then contrasted with a simpler yet timelessly elegant table. Vibrant roses, hyacinths, tulips, and daffodils line the rose gold table and Washington chairs from Blancaflor’s @18th.ph.

2. A Nod To Splendour

This stunning set-up by Blanca or featuring all-white fresh flowers is brought to life by his elegant S-shaped mirrored table from @18th.ph, which always adds styled dimension to any theme and venue. A lush and rather decadent abundance of fresh blooms fill the table as tall towers of gypsophila add that grand finishing touch.

In conceptualising this table, Maria Parsons kept two basic ideas at heart for her NYC bohemian set-up; it had to be unconventional and it had to be exceptionally unique. Parsons thought of New York, one of the most sophisticated cities on the planet and decided on a vibrant palette with touches of silver. She wanted to play with height, and showcase an assortment of unique owers so out came sterling silver pieces lled with plants and owers. Crystal vases added a bit of sparkle which complemented the coloured glassware. Exotic orchids with their unique fragrances, shared space with proteas, calla lilies, bromeliad owers and a host of other jewel-toned ora. Silver candelabra with long eggplant coloured tapers added height as did the forsythia branches that extended from the slender glass vases at either end. The table is a burst of colour and texture, while keeping it classy.

4. A Midsummer Night's Formal

Rustic should never mean a lack of elegance. Parsons decided on a muted palette of pinks, greens and touches of lilac. From there, she compiled the flowers and accessories for a table that looks effortlessly chic. The flowers are to complement the setting, not outshine the bride. Hence, she used a mix of imported blooms from Holland and some locally sourced as well. The choice of flowers dictated that they were arranged to make it appear as though they were gathered from a nearby field and simply placed in containers. Much like the effort it takes to create a “no-makeup” makeup look, this seemingly informal style takes much more effort to look as though it is effortless. Hellebores, with their ombré petals, complement the mix of fragrant spray roses and delicate ranunculus perfectly; when combined with coloured-cut glass chargers and wine glasses, a pewter candelabra and neutral tapered candles, the result feels rustic yet at the same time sophisticated. There is purposely nothing unnecessary on the table—simplicity is key when styling a modern table.
