Get ready for this stellar food affair arriving this October!
We have missed out on a lot of social activities this year, from travelling, to attending concerts and festivals, and even simply visiting the cinemas or dining in restaurants with friends. With businesses and people adjusting to the new normal, we have all slowly started visiting our favourite dining spots once again. While there is still a great deal of trepidation, one factor that helps ease our woes is al fresco seating!
Every year, many would flock the streets of Bonifacio Global City to participate in the grand food market brought by Mercato Centrale featuring small-medium enterprises and home-cooks. This year the Mercato group brings us something extra special.
Starting 17 October, everyone is invited to a unique rendition of Mercato Centrale's food market: High StrEAT. What differentiates this Mercato from those in the past you might be thinking. Well this time, the focus is on established restaurants and chefs! You can enjoy delectable dishes for the first time ever from the biggest names in the industry but in a food-fair setting! What is even more exciting is that these restaurants have prepared bespoke menus and new dishes that are more suited to al fresco dining. "It is sort of like street food but done in their way and at affordable prices" shares Vanessa Ledesma, president of Mercato Centrale. The special prices make food more accessible to a wide array of people who may not have been able to indulge in these top restaurants before.
"The heart and soul of Mercato all these 10 years it has been running has been to help small entrepreneurs thrive, to help them start up and scale up. Due to the pandemic, we realised that not just small food entrepreneurs need help, but everyone does even established restaurants," said Vanessa.
Vanessa and her husband, RJ Ledesma, Mercato Centrale's chief innovation officer, explained that we can expect to see a total of 30 merchants. 25 of which will be a mixture of established restaurants from BGC and the well-missed Poblacion area. Meanwhile, the remaining five booths were specially chosen from Mercato Centrale's existing vendors from their BGC post.
Lip smacking good restaurants like Gallery by Chele, Wolfgang’s Steakhouse, La Picarra, A’toda Madre, The Mango Tree Manila, FRNK Milk Bar, El Chupacabra, and Brotzeit to name a few will be present and rearing serve you all. The Ledesma's pointed out that never before have so many of these beloved restaurants by top chefs and restaurateurs been gathered together under one roof. You can enjoy a grand selection at your convenience.
