7. Mods Café

Its window reads “serious coffee drinkers only”, a testament to its commitment to upholding the highest standards of coffee. Its storefront is not your typical café with an orange 1978 Volkswagen Kombi camper van parked smack dab in the middle of the shop.

The menu spans speciality coffee drinks, both with and without milk, and homemade cakes and scones. We particularly recommend getting a cup of its filter brew. Seats are limited, so it is best to visit it for a cuppa to go.

Just a few steps from Jonker Street, Calanthe Art Café serves each Malaysian states’ signature cups of coffee, made with local beans of the Robusta, Arabica and Liberica varieties.

Owner Joe Ng started the café out of his passion for coffee and made his dreams of providing coffee from each of Malaysia’s 13 states a reality.
