Craving for a delicious frozen dessert? You’re in luck. Italy’s GROM Gelato is now within your reach!

Indulging in a tasty cone or cup of pure, authentic gelato is one of Italy’s quintessential experiences. How better to appreciate a delicious cup than by getting a fresh tub from one of the most premium gelato brands in the world, GROM Gelato?

GROM has travelled at least 10,000 km and finally made its way to the Philippines. But before diving into a pint of creamy vanilla, crunchy stracciatella or sensual chocolate gelato, have you ever wondered what makes gelato different from ice cream? Most of us has probably mistaken gelato for ice cream at least once in our lifetime; and yes, there is a difference. Gelato is creamier, smoother, and more richly-flavoured than ice cream. It is churned at a much slower rate, incorporating less air and leaving it denser than the latter.

This is all true for GROM. As soon as you taste it, you can easily feel the distinctiveness of the gelato, with the richness of the flavour that plays inside your mouth accompanied with the silky-smooth texture evident only from the most pure and authentic Italian gelato.

In hopes of creating the best gelato in the world, GROM was founded in Italy by friends Guido Martinetti and Federico Grom in 2002. The two committed to create gelato the way traditional Italian gelaterias make it – no artificial colouring, aromas, or emulsifiers.

“They have the desire —the wish— to make the best gelato in the world by selecting and sourcing the best ingredients sometimes from Italy, sometimes from the other parts of the world,” said Diego Pacifici, GROM’s global marketing manager, during the brand’s launch on 7 November.

With their philosophy of “pure, authentic, Italian”, GROM prides itself in the fact that it uses only the purest ingredients, make each scoop from scratch, and uses traditional Italian gelato recipes.

Pure speaks of the way every tub of GROM gelato is made. From chocolate chips from Venezuela, pistachios from the Middle East to cage-free eggs from their own organic farm Mura Mura in Italy, GROM meticulously sources and uses raw ingredients to ensure the most delicious flavour for each pint.

Made with pastry cream, Venezuelan chocolate chips and GROM’s own Meliga biscuits, the brand’s signature Crema di GROM melts like butter on the tongue. Cioccolato are made from Ecuadorian chocolate and notes of dried fruit that will surely leave a lasting impression.

Simple yet ingenious and one of the most classic Italian gelato flavours, the smooth and creamy Stracciatella packs each bite with crunchy Ecuadorian chocolate. Last but not the least, the Pistachio flavour, made from pistachios from the Middle East is definitely a must-try! Varying textures of crunch from pistachio bits against velvety caramel create a satisfying mouth-feel.

GROM commits to authenticity through making gelato from scratch, allowing the natural flavour of the ingredients do its work. “Authenticity means you give justice to the raw ingredients. The best ingredients [are] not enough, you need to have the best recipe” Pacifici added.

At the heart of the brand is its Italian heritage. Each scoop of GROM gelato is made in Italy and shipped to different parts of the world. What began as a small gelateria in Italy, is now a globally recognised gelato brand present across three continents and much more recently on the shelves of select supermarkets in the Philippines.
