Eat your way through the most populous city of Vietnam
Ho Chi Minh City, commonly also known as Saigon, is a vibrant city in Southeast Vietnam. While known for its French colonial architecture and historic landmarks, it is also characterised by its street food and café culture.
I visited Vietnam for the very first time this September, and spent an enchanting three days and two nights sipping Vietnamese coffee, chomping on banh mi and spring rolls, and slurping pho. Here are my recommendations for a memorable day in Ho Chi Minh City.

Start your day at The Workshop Coffee
Hidden on the second floor of a 100-year-old block of buildings is The Workshop Coffee, one of Vietnam’s first speciality coffee shops. Climb up a rustic, old staircase in a narrow alley to find the space characterised by exposed brick walls and a well-lit interior.
Large windows with adjacent seating allow for people-watching while enjoying an array of brunch plates, sandwiches, and pasta. But of course, the main affair is the coffee. Choose from changing selections of local and international beans brewed into your coffee of choice.
