Many venues have pivoted to producing creative and delicious bento box lunches (or dinners) that give diners a diverse array of tastes and textures in one meal
While diners will be able to eat at restaurants again from 31 July from 5:00am to 6:00pm, they will be limited to two per table while the venue will only be able to operate at half capacity. With these limitations in place, many chefs have sought to present their signature offerings in more easily transportable and attractive bento sets that diners can order to enjoy at home instead. They’re not limited to Japanese restaurants either; here are our picks of the best boxed lunches available from the city’s finest.
Grand Hyatt's Lunch Bentos
The Grand Hyatt have launched a series of bento lunches to go, which features some of the hotel's best hits including honey barbecued pork with free-range fried egg, steamed rice, seasonal green vegetables and shrimp spring rolls, and a chicken curry masala with mixed peppers, steamed rice, mango chutney, pickles and vegetarian samosa. They'll even do an afternoon tea box set should you want to replicate the Tiffin experience at home.
