Fundador, one of the world's most iconic brand of sherry brandy, has bagged the biggest award at the recently concluded 2021 San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC).

Through the years, Fundador remains as one of the world's most iconic brands of sherry brandy. Produced by Spanish businessman Pedro Domecq, the label got its name from the word "founder," a name that was chosen wisely because, in 1874, it was the first brand ever to be marketed as Brandy de Jerez

In 2015, Emperador Inc. owner tycoon Andrew L Tan acquired Fundador Pedro Domecq in an “all-cash” deal worth 275 million euros, or PHP13.8 billion.

This year, the brand has proven that it continues to be on top of mind for connoisseurs across the globe. In the recently concluded San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC), it took home the Platinum Award for Fundador Supremo 18.

Now in its 21st year, SFWSC is the second oldest spirits competition in the world as well as the oldest and largest spirits competition in the USA. It is certainly one of the world’s most prestigious spirits competitions whose judges have decades of industry experience. Platinum is a rare award and a most sought-after accolade. This recognition is given to very few entries, those that have previously received a Double Gold medal for three consecutive years.
