A bountiful feast awaits with Jasmine's two indulgent set menus and a Chef’s Recommendation a la carte menu, each starting the meal with the Salmon fish Yu Sheng for tossing with family and friends to usher in luck, abundance, and good fortune for the new year. The Yu Sheng consists of an array of bright and colourful ingredients which in Chinese tradition each signify a meaning. Fish (salmon) signifies abundance throughout the year, bright coloured fruits such as mango and cantaloupe are blessings of good luck, sour radish means prosperity in business and promotion at work, radish wishes eternal youth, cashew nuts symbolise a household filled with gold and silver, sesame seeds signify a flourishing business, pomelo adds luck and auspicious value, wonton crackers symbolise a floor full of gold, and oil for circling ingredients and encouraging money to flow in from all directions, topped with plum sauce for a sweet life and loving relationships.
Jasmine’s Lunar New Year dishes highlight auspicious ingredients such as fish, believed to signify abundance; scallops or abalone, resembling gold coins for wealth; glutinous rice, its stickiness pertaining to togetherness or unity; and sweet desserts for healthy relationships.
The first set menu then follows with the Braised shredded chicken with fish maw and dried scallop, Stir-fried scallop with shrimp in XO sauce, Steamed live garoupa in soy sauce, Braised pork knuckle with black mushroom and sea moss, Deep-fried spare ribs with salt and pepper and crispy milk, Deep-fried crispy chicken with minced garlic, fried glutinous rice with Chinese marinated pork, Chilled red bean cream sweet dumpling and an assortment of sweet Nian Gao pastries.This menu is priced at PHP12,880++ for six guests.
The second auspicious set menu also comprises the Yu sheng salad, Roasted suckling pig salad, Dried scallop with shredded chicken, bamboo pith and crab meat soup, Stir-fried scallop with celery, slice preserved duck leg meat, Steamed live garoupa in soy sauce, Braised baby abalone with black mushroom and sea moss, Deep-friend minced shrimp ball and crispy milk, Fried glutinous rice with assorted Chinese marinated meat, Chilled red bean cream and sweet dumpling, and a variety of Nian Gao delights. The menu is offered at PHP14,980++ for six guests.
