Ana de Ocampo has been a busy bee pollinating Manila’s dining scene. The latest addition to spring up in her ever-growing garden is Little Flour Café, a mere few blocks away from her original and massively popular café concept.
Splitting and alleviating the hungry BGC throng with the flagship, the just-shy-of-200-square-metre Little Flour Café can seat up to 60. Tucked behind one of the main thoroughfares of BGC, it feels more like a discovery shares de Ocampo. “Once you enter, a soaring ceiling welcomes you in such a whimsical way,” she says.
Owing to Wildflour’s winning formula and the fact that the original is quite literally around the corner, loyal Flourists might beg to ask: What makes this “little” branch different?
Aside from the fact that Little Flour is the not so little sister of Wildflour, explains de Ocampo, “It’s is a fresh spin on the Wildflour concept—she’s a tad more carefree so breakfast and brunch favourites are offered all day, not to mention a wide selection of freshly baked goods and Filipino comfort food classics. For example, Little Flour serves classic locally-inspired rice bowls such as arroz caldo and sisig and given the special Wildflour touch, which you won't find in any of our other restaurants. Think pure imagination reflected in the levitating chairs we’ve suspended [from the ceiling] as part of the décor."
For Rockwell dwellers, hath no fear. Building on her roster of fine establishments is the soon-to-open Wildflour 8 Rockwell, a two-storey mecca for weekend brunchers and pastry pundits. Complete with a mezzanine that is perfect for meetings and private functions, a full-scale dining area, a Farmacy counter, and, of course, the great food and experience you've come to expect, this edition is essentially Flour power like you’ve never seen it.
Says an excited de Ocampo, “Wildflour’s rise in Rockwell feels like a long time coming. This is a crowd and area that welcomes winding brunch conversation and the irresistible bites that go with it, so it’s about time we rolled into town.”
