In a bustling city like Makati, weekday mornings can be tough; meetings come one after another, reports pile atop busy desks, email notifications ping non-stop. To revitalise one's senses, a cup of well-brewed coffee is imperative. In this list, we've rounded up cafés around the city that offer aromatic and specialty coffees that will have you coming back for more

Habitual Coffee

As the name suggests, going to this café will be your next habit. With their Aero Press coffee made from locally-sourced beans and baristas who know their menu by heart, finding the perfect cup here is no hard task. Pay a visit at their newest branch at Salcedo village, with its interiors revamped—brighter and cosier than the previous one they had in Chino Roces.

What to order: Frozen Flat White, Sea Salt Caramel Latte, Long Black

Habitual Coffee is located at Paseo Heights, Salcedo Village, L.P. Leviste Street

Hineleban Café

Hineleban Café, a child of Hineleban farms, is dedicated in putting the spotlight on indigenous coffee farmers from Mindanao. There's a lot of blends to marvel at in their menu, but if you want an even more bespoke drink, take a pick from their different alternative brewing methods available—Aero Press, French press, pour over, and Siphon.

What to order: D' Claude, Cafe au'lait, and orange mocha

Hineleban Café is located at Kalayaan Avenue Corner Rockwell Drive, Poblacion. Reach them through +639229220600 or +639155938073

Yardstick Coffee

This café in Legazpi Village is not messing around when it comes to coffee. From the finest quality of beans that are sourced from all-over the world to top-of-the-line coffee machines and equally talented baristas, it's hard to not gush over their amazing blends. Plus, on days that you don't feel like going out, you can always purchase their beans and blends, and enjoy a sip in the comfort of your own home.

What to order: The Original Cold Brew and Gibraltar

Yardstick Coffee is located at G/F Universal LMS Building, 106 Esteban Street, Legazpi Village

The Curator Coffee and Bar

This coffee shop slash bar may have received huge accolades for their cocktails, but their coffees are just as spectacular. Their playful blends and bespoke mixes always hits the spot and matches the palate of every guest. Their beans are specially roasted by #YKW Roasters, or occasionally, by expert brewers they partner with.

What to order: Best to ask the baristas on what suits your taste best!

The Curator Coffee and Cocktails is located at Legaspi Parkview Condominium, 134 Legaspi Street corner C. Palanca Street, Legazpi Village

Commune

Since its opening, Commune has only served brews from local beans coming from Benguet, Sagada, South Cotobato, Kapatagan, Bukidnon and many others. As a matter of fact, they have created their own blend of coffee, the Commune blend, from Arabica and Robusta beans. Aside from these, single origin beans from Mount Matutum, Mount Kitanglad and Sagada and other Arabica growing regions in the Philippines are also available in store. There's also so much room for customisation in their menu. All their coffee drinks can be ordered decaf and brewed different ways, from French press, V60, and Chemex.

What to order: The Commune Blend, Single Origin, and Cortado

The Commune is located at 36 Polaris St., Makati, Metro Manila
