One of the best hotel bars in the world is in Manila!
The Bar at Peninsula Manila bagged a spot in the 2019 Forbes Travel Guide’s list of the 44 best hotel bars in the world.
The only bar in the Philippines to have earned the accolade, Forbes praised The Bar and its checkered floors and wooden walls that glean inspiration from an old Cuban cigar factory. Its interior resembles a cosy living room where guests can sit back and relax with a good cigar and exquisite drinks.
Vintage artefacts from worldly travels, as well as vintage black and white photography cover the walls. The dim lighting emits a relaxing and soothing sense perfect for lounging after a busy day of work.
Their pica-pica (finger food) like pork sisig croquetas (fried balls of crispy pork and béchamel and crispy pork) and Sriracha butter duck wings were also mentioned. Forbes also suggested the bar’s Batangas Old Fashioned, “which swaps in Maker’s Mark infused with Kapeng Barako.”
