Restaurant Verbena

It’s got the best view of Taal Lake. It is also on the quiet side of the road on the ridge. Service is good and portions are generous.

TATLER TIPS

  • Though it has continental specials from appetisers to dessert, the Filipino or local corner is worth a look. Ask for the lemongrass or the ginger lime iced tea. Very refreshing. The wine list is also extensive, and lots of options by the glass.
  • Named after one of the owners, the Oyster Ruben comprises housemade spaghettini topped with oysters and caviar.
  • They are thoughtful to ask how you like your Norwegian salmon fillet and medium doneness is good. Served with a crisp salmon skin topping, a light tomato sauce on spaghettini and arugula.
  • The candied pistachio, sultanas, and spiced raspberry vinaigrette complement the lightly tossed arugula with pears and orange slices with little dots of goat cheese. Refreshing!
