Eat healthier with the help of Sheraton Manila's S Kitchen as they introduce a new vegan menu for wellness enthusiasts who are dead set on including plant-based dishes into their diet. You need not worry about giving up your favourite local food because S Kitchen is serving vegan alternatives to Filipino dishes like kare-kare, sizzling sisig, and chicharon toppings on pancit palabok.
Anna Vergara, Sheraton Manila's manager, is excited to present the restaurant's new menu to support the vegan community. “The year 2020 has changed so many things, from the way we work to the way we eat. As people become more aware of their food choices as we enter the New Year, we want to offer flavourful yet healthy options to our guest as they renew their lifestyle," she shared.

The Filipino food staples will not lose the flavour and character we all crave for despite being cooked without animal meat. In fact, S Kitchen's decadent version of kare-kare is made of eggplant, mock tripe made of tremella mushroom, vegetables, creamy peanut sauce and mock shrimp paste to develop a beautiful dish.
There's rellenong alimasag made of deep-fried patties that are created by combining crumbled tofu, seaweed, and miso. Their sizzling sisig is made of a fried mushroom medley, and marinated tofu. Another Filipino favourite is kaldereta, which is made of mock pork. You'll also enjoy their Bicol Express made from yuba skin and tofu. Their delicious Goto Congee is cooked with yuba and tremella mushroom while their Pancit palabok is topped with tofu, yuba, and vegan chicharon. Another snack to relish is their vegan ukoy fritters and ensaladang langka.
And for dessert, S Kitchen offers a version of halo-halo that's made of vegan agar jelly, nata de coco, tapioca pearls, sweetened red beans, crispy pinipig, creamy cashew milk, almond milk, and vegan ube halaya.
