In continuation of its "Culinary Masters Series", Solaire introduces Singapore’s top celebrity chef Justin Quek as he presents his signature French-Asian cuisine to Lucky Noodles and Red Lantern on 3 to 8 September 2019.
Solaire is introducing some of the world’s most outstanding chefs to special dinner events that highlight their culinary skills and prowess for discerning guests to experience. This series is another example of Solaire providing the most extraordinary experience to its guests.
“By bringing in renowned and internationally decorated chefs from all parts of the globe, Solaire gets to share the fascinating ingenuity and creativity that are behind some of the best gastronomic creations that have garnered praise and recognition, and at the same time, widen the culinary horizon of our patrons,” expressed Knut Becker, Solaire’s Vice President for Food and Beverage.
The series started with Japanese Three Michelin Star Chef Jun Yukimura and now, the luxurious resort and casino features another well-decorated talent, Chef Justin Quek, to show his brilliant French-Asian flair in his exceptional display of skill and creativity.
While his hallmark is modern fusion, tradition and technique is still the Singaporean chef’s unwavering foundation in his distinct fusion of French and Asian flavours. Chef Justin Quek has worked in highly-reputable properties in Asia and esteemed Michelin Starred-restaurants across Europe which honed his culinary skills and afforded him his own personal culinary flair that blends both mastery of French techniques and his Chinese heritage.
Wanting to see the world at a young age, according to Chef Justin, he chose to become a sailor and ended up as a steward in a ship’s galley. From then on, he sharpened his skills through working in hotel kitchens across Asia, even staying in France for a year to excel further. This expertise led him to become the first Singaporean chef to serve the French ambassador, and later becoming a partner and the opening chef de cuisine for famed French fine dining restaurant Les Amis.
Apart from Chef Justin’s achievements in his home country, he managed to expand his presence in Asia by heading various French fine dining restaurants across Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Shanghai before being invited back to Singapore to open and serve as the principal chef for the exquisite 240-seater fine-dining restaurant, Sky on 57, atop the Marina Bay Sands.
