The Perfect Pint elevates the local craft beer industry on a higher notch with its latest branch in Alabang.

Tempongko brothers’ renowned gastropub, The Perfect Pint, opens a branch down South of Metro Manila, which houses a state-of-the-art nanobrewery for its very own homebrews and continues to serve impeccable bar dishes by the chef Gene Gonzalez that complement well with the gastropub’s craft beer selections.

Situated at Molito, Alabang, The Perfect Pint’s latest branch also has the acclaimed gastropub’s unique modern rustic interiors but in a more spacious and airy location. Indeed, the relaxing ambiance as well as its excellent food and craft beer selections make up for a perfect dining and drinking spot for young professionals and expats after work hours. But the main highlight of the branch was the state-of-the-art nanobrewery, which produces The Perfect Pint’s signature homebrews on a daily basis—guaranteeing freshness and optimum quality of its craft beers.

“We’re very excited about our brewpub, which is a pub with a small brewery in it that gives us the freedom to concoct the most innovative, original, and intriguing flavours, says Alec Norman Tempongko, one of Perfect Pint’s owners and also its master brewer. “Besides that, we’re also releasing newly crafted beers that are product of a year-long research from our first branch in Bonifacio Global City.”

Alec and his brothers opened The Perfect Pint in 2014, introducing to the Philippine market locally-made craft beers like Crazy Carabao, Katipunan, Joe’s Brew, and Pivo Praha, to name a few. Back then, local craft beers was a concept unheard of by many particularly in Metro Manila as these brews hail from different provinces in the country. “My inspiration honestly was the craft beer industry in the US, which has grown significantly over the years,” Tempongko says. “Compared to commercial beers, craft beer has no preservatives, not pasteurised, and unfiltered. We don’t use any chemicals on our homebrews but only natural ingredients.”

Even though local and foreign commercial beers remain as the general market’s choice of drink, Tempongko believes that craft beer still exceeds these brands in terms of quality. “Commercial beers have that metallic aftertaste because of mass production but craft beers, on the other hand, are fresh and more robust in flavour and structure due to its brewers’ hands-on artistry,” Tempongko explains. “When you drink in a bar a branded commercial beer for a cheap price, you tend to purchase five to six bottles because one bottle won’t be enough. But when you buy a craft beer, which is fresh, more flavourful, and higher in alcohol, two to three bottles will be perfect,” he continues.
