The Island, The Palace group’s new tropical nightlife concept gives a whole new meaning to “If you were stranded on an Island…”
The Palace group, the nightlife faction that famously (or should we say infamously) gave us Embassy, Privé, 71 Gramercy, and a host of other frenetic partyphile hot spots, has devised a way to keep things fresh and novel, and, rather equatorially apropos.
Part tropical paradise; part city-slicker slick, The Island (which used to be the Palace Pool Club) is the latest and fifth concept to be added to The Palace complex, which already houses party hubs Revel, Yes Please, B.A.D, and the soon-to-reopen Valkyrie. Think of it as good eats, beats and booze—but just packaged differently and in a more chill, multi-dimensional way.
Dubbed "the country’s first nightlife market" that offers a nightlife experience like no other, The Island is a vibrant co-op of nine unique bar and food stall concepts, all centred on giving guests the island life vibe, tropics-friendly bar chow, and the latest beats, six days a week. Explains GP Reyes, co-founder of the new and improved complex, “The Island adds spice and sizzle to the venue, as now, The Palace boasts a collective of clubby, cocktail bar, and F&B concepts. It’s basically a nightlife marketplace with no cover charge or table minimums (except during special events). It has a laid-back atmosphere truly fitting of its name and it’s the perfect place to bar hop.”
Adds Reyes, “The Palace Pool Club (which was named #53 in DJ Mag’s definitive list of top 100 clubs) was a high-energy day club and was really conducive [size- and amenity-wise] for bringing in international acts as well. The Island has retained the pool club aspect and we will continue our tradition of bringing in the best DJs and international acts.”
