Welcome to Foodie Finds! This is an article series by Tatler, chronicling where and what to order according to the food-obsessed.

 I myself have never understood non-foodies. How can one not love flavours, spices, aromas and all the cultural nuances and memories that come with every bite? Dining is an experience meant to be savoured and is even more fun when shared with loved ones. Dining around a table means sharing, conversing, bonding and learning. A dish can tell you so much about a person, a culture, and a country. It speaks volumes of a nation's history and is an art form on its own. Skilled hands are trained over years or are born out of pure passion and practice. Professional chefs and home cooks alike, from young stars to grandmothers, have been cooking up meals filled with emotion and have truly made us foodies, happy.

Through Foodie Finds, we ask our epicurean friends to share their favourites. In this feature, we tackle takeout and delivery. Hear what Mons Romulo, The Philippine Star columnist, entrepreneur, founder of Katutubo Pop-Up Market, and Child Protection Network board member has to say. She shares her go-to shops for takeout with us, here:

1. Cibo di Marghi

@cibodimarghi

Cibo di Marghi by Margarita Fores is a constant for my favourite butter chicken which reminds me of my childhood. This chicken dish comes with potatoes and Vienna sausage. I also love their truffled chicken galantina!

2. Maisen

@maisenph

When I crave Japanese my go-to is Maisen’s kurobota katsu and their dashimaki tamago. My kids and I would line up in Tokyo to get some Maisen. I’m happy that we have it here in Manila!

3. Aurea Farm Fruits

During these past lockdowns, I would always crave fruits - it’s perfect for my diet. My favourite place to order fruits is Aurea Farm Fruits. It’s hard to check if the fruits we order online are sweet and [of] good quality, but in my experience, Aurea Farm always gives me the best quality. I always order their Taiwan atis, cherimoya and Japanese sweet potatoes.

Their squid ink pasta is the best I have ever had. No one comes close! We also love their Mrs O salad, and chicken cooked in a brick oven which is so juicy and has great crispy skin.

5. The Corner Pantry

Their pantry and freezer staples are always top quality. My favourites are beef yakiniku, chicken karaage, Aunt Remy’s mighty meat spaghetti, and adlai kani sushi bake. I also love their kamote juice, which is a nice healthy drink.
