All Aboard: Cocktails on the USS Theodore Roosevelt
US Ambassador to the Philippines Sung Kim, together with Rear Admiral Commander Steve Koehler, welcomed the select group of distinguished visitors aboard the renowned aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt.
On a scheduled port visit to Manila, this symbol of American naval power docked at the Manila Bay, about a 45-minute-boat ride away from shore. But the guests did not mind the ride as they got a frontrow view of this noted carrier also known as TR or The Big Stick which first saw action during Operation Desert Storm.
Ambassador Kim tweeted the importance of the occasion: “Honoured and proud to have USS Theodore Roosevelt here: wonderful demonstration of our strong commitment to the region and a celebration of our alliance as #FriendsPartnersAllies.”
