Art of Luxury Travel 2019
Brought to you by the Philippine National Bank.
The Raffles & Fairmont Makati Ballroom was overflowing with Manila’s stylish globetrotters as Philippine Tatler Traveller once again celebrated the Art of Luxury Travel at a lavish cocktail event. The hugely successful occasion was also the official launch of the glossy’s latest volume featuring Marion Branellec de Guzman in its cover story shot on location in Hanoi, Vietnam, PAL’s latest South East Asian destination. Welcoming everyone onstage was guest host, the debonair Mike Toledo along with Philippine Tatler Traveller Editor, Mia Borromeo and Philippine Tatler Director, Dr Randy Francisco.
Sponsors for the luxe travel event were PNB, led by President and CEO Wick Veloso (with his glamourous wife Cayenne) and Standard Insurance represented by Sophia Echauz Chua.
Posh guests of every age savoured culinary delights whipped up by Raflles & Fairmont Makati chefs, sipped heady drinks—from champagne, rosé, red wine, and lychee martinis, to the night’s greatest hits: botanical gin and tonics paired with Raffles’ to-die-for chicharon. Gourmet food selections included traditional Vietnamese specialities, a lamb carving station, sushi bar, and grazing table complete with raclette.
DJ Cocoy Puyat’s beautiful sounds filled the air and marvelous creative vignettes showcased the finest things that global brands have to offer: Anya Resorts & Residences Tagaytay, Astoria Hotels and Resorts, Beauty Bar, Dusit Thani, Escada, Eye Society, Filigree, Giordano Ladies, Jewelmer, Medical City, Nespresso, Normann Copenhagen, Paul & Shark, Rustan’s The Beauty Source, Savoy Hotel Manila, Sunglass Haven, and Turkish Airlines.
A ceremonial toast with Philippine Tatler Managing Director Irene Martel Francisco, PNB President and CEO Wick Veloso, EVP of Retail Banking Sector Bernie Tocmo, Standard Insurance’s Board Director Pia Echauz Chua and Tootsy Angara, Raffles & Fairmont Makati’s Director of Communications Monique Toda, cover lady Marion Branellec De Guzman, and Philippine Tatler Traveller Editor Mia Borromeo, kicked off the official unveiling of the stunning cover shot in Hanoi’s iconic Ngoc Son temple. Throughout the night, almost 40 luxurious prizes were raffled off ranging from the latest in fashion and beauty, hotel and resort stays, gourmet experiences, aesthetic and wellness services, home furnishings, to exciting trips. Luckiest guests of all were Frannie Jacinto who won a PNB/Philippine Airlines Mabuhay Miles Certificate worth 88,000 Miles (equivalent to two roundtrip business class tickets to Hanoi); Miguel Oliveira, winner of a Jewelmer South Sea pearl pendant set in 18-karat gold; vivacious Tina Cuevas who took home a Turkish Airlines business class ticket to any destination of her choice in Turkey or Europe; and last but not the least, fashionable Duday Tuason who capped the night with a splendid GC for an Amawaterways cruise for two (on either the Rhine or Danube River, or to Bordeaux) courtesy of Intas Luxe and Intas Destinations.
The special title, Philippine Tatler Traveller produced by editorial team Mia Borromeo, Maritess Reyes, and Noel Camaligan, hopes to continue inspiring its readers to travel the world through its sumptuous pages.
