Connect To Change: Enriching Students’ Lives With Mano Amiga
Mano Amiga Philippines, co-founded by Gen.T honouree Lynn Pinugu, provides underprivileged youth with education opportunities that serve as a catalyst for community transformation and inclusive growth. The organisation does this by providing scholarships and sustainable livelihood to low-income families and empower them to break out of poverty.
For Generation T's Connect To Change event in the Philippines, the local community spent half a day with the students of Mano Amiga Academy to share their time and passions. Honourees Richard Heydarian, Sara Black, and Mito Fabie conducted short talks and workshops on journalism, photography, and poetry and music respectively. Through these activities, the students were exposed to different career paths and learnt how to creatively express themselves. The volunteers were also able to learn more about the students while partaking on a special lunch prepared by Manam, care of Gen.T honouree Abba Napa.
