The Tatler Ball was sorely missed for one year, having exercised prudence in the wake of a super typhoon that devastated a region. So when the Philippine Tatler Ball returned in 2014 it came as no surprise that the Rizal Ballroom of the Makati Shangri-La filled to the brim with the country’s most illustrious personalities. No other occasion in the country can draw in such an assemblage. Gracing the occasion was Michel Lamunière, vice-president of the Edipresse Group, who delivered a message on behalf of Edipresse Asia. The Philippine Tatler raised over 6.4 million Philippine pesos for the Virlanie Foundation, surpassing its goal of 5 million pesos. The Ball recognised the efforts of society’s most exceptional individuals through its annual Philippine Tatler Ball Awards. Entertainment included performances from the Virlanie Children’s Choir, Zsa Zsa Padilla, and New-York based tap dancer Omar Edwards, whose jaw-dropping performance prepped the guests for a night of dancing to the music of the 8 Track Band.
