“Looking forward to a crazy-fun wedding!” Tessa Prieto-Valdes exclaimed in an Instagram post three weeks before the wedding of her eldest son Bryan Prieto. “It will be a riot for sure!”

Sure enough, 130 guests gathered on paradisiacal Balesin Island as Bryan tied the knot with the lovely Tinkay Soler Crespo in a memorable tropical wedding.

The couple first met in June 2015 thanks to Lorna, the bride’s best friend, but only began dating a few months later while on a trip to Siquijor and Dumaguete. Bryan would propose to Tinkay a year and a half later.

The wedding itself was a solemn and touching affair, officiated by Fr Ely Santos at the Balesin Chapel. Tinkay was stunning in a Patricia Santos gown, while Bryan looked dapper in a suit by Randy Ortiz. Redge Tabaniag designed the outfits for the entourage.

Norman and Mye Cruz of Adworks made sure that everything from the invitations to the wedding favours were done in the rich colours of a tropical sunset. Royal Fleurs provided gorgeous blooms while guests were charmed and entertained by exotic birds from the Balesin Aviary prior to the ceremony.

The newlyweds celebrated well into the wee hours as guests toasted them with their favourite drinks. The SubProjekt Band got everyone to dance until they dropped.
