It’s official—Japanese beauty brand Shiseido has commenced operations in the Philippines. In possession of a character that brings together traditional Japanese philosophies and modern-day Western scientific developments, Shiseido's entry into the Philippine market marks a new chapter in the country's skincare, cosmetic, and fragrance industries as it sets out to give Filipinos access to beauty beyond borders. This venture, done in partnership with Luxasia, also signals the launch of several key brands under the company’s extensive product portfolio, with NARS, Laura Mercier, and Senka now part of the roster. In addition, Shiseido Philippines also has a line-up of prestige fragrance brands, which include Dolce & Gabbana, Issey Miyake, and Narciso Rodriguez.

The well-attended launch, feted at a grand party at the El Nido Villa in Okada Manila, was graced by the presence of Shiseido Asia Pacific President and CEO Jean-Philippe Charrier and Managing Director for Shiseido Philippines Koji Nakata. Nakata shares, “We are extremely delighted to move our business forward with the launch of Shiseido Philippines Corporation, and I look forward to engage with our consumers as we bring them limitless beauty with our extensive line-up of high-quality cosmetics and skincare products.” Charrier recognises the Philippines as a strategic market in Southeast Asia, enthusing about how it is an exciting time to be part of the country's booming beauty industry.
