The mission of Generation T’s Connect To Change programme is to bring the Gen.T community together to create positive impact, partnering with local charities across Asia and activating the skills of our honourees to benefit the charity and help its founders achieve their goals.
This year’s inaugural Connect To Change event took place in Singapore, in partnership with Reach Community Services and with the support of the National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre.
Twenty children from youth outreach programme Reach Community Services attended a series of sharing sessions hosted by five Gen.T honourees—Rachel Lim, co-founder of fashion label Love, Bonito; Ho Jia Jian, co-founder of online media company Viddsee; Jackson Aw, founder of toy design studio Mighty Jaxx; Oon Tian Sern, founder of mental health platform Acceset; and rapper Shigga Shay.
The sessions took place in guest suites inside the iconic The Fullerton Hotel Singapore. During the sessions, honourees shared personal stories about their journey and career, with tales of dreams, failure and perseverance being the hot topics of the day.
After the sessions, the attendees mingled over tea. Rapper Shigga Shay gave a surprise performance for the kids, even inviting one of the young attendees to beatbox alongside him.
