The co-founder of the award-winning data and tech company will draw upon his vast entrepreneurial and financial expertise to expand Nikkei's business overseas

Daryl Neo, the founding director and CEO of Singapore-based technology company DC Frontiers, has been appointed Nikkei’s first special executive officer outside of Japan.

Neo brings his expertise as an entrepreneur to Nikkei's overseas services and solutions, which includes scoutAsia, a news and company data platform that Nikkei developed with the Financial Times in 2018. In 2019, DC Frontiers was brought on board to power the platform with its AI technologies and process data and articles, as well as introduce bespoke data solutions as a new product offering.

“Nikkei Inc has a history of being a first-mover in adopting technology and boldly redefining the way news is produced, processed, and consumed”, Neo says in the Nikkei press release. “My team and I are deeply honoured to play a part in the next wave of exciting innovations Nikkei Inc will bring to the world.”

Tsuyoshi Hasebe, president and CEO of Nikkei, says the company is “thrilled and excited to welcome Daryl into this new role in our regional HQ in Singapore. He impressed us greatly, not least with his expertise, but also his vision for Nikkei’s business expansion outside Japan.”

DC Frontiers is best known for its due diligence platform Handshakes, which provides an accessible view of the connections between companies and individuals. “When the world becomes more transparent, it is a lot easier to do business”, Neo told Gen.T in a past interview.
