Designed by Madness Design Studio, this modern oriental-themed home in Kota Kemuning has an atmosphere and design details to spare
With a name like Madness Studio, one would be curious about what kind of work this interior design studio would produce. But rather than denoting wildly eccentric flights of fancy, madness refers to the deep passion the interior designers (who call themselves Mad Monsters) have for their work.
"Every space has its own story, and at Madness Studio, we believe that the essence of interior design will always be about people and how they live," states managing director Lau Yee Yin."Under the hands of our enthusiastic Mad Monsters, we allow the spaces to fulfil their highest potential by transforming them accordingly to our clients' needs."
This was undoubtedly the cause for this home in Gamuda 25.7, an award-winning integrated township in Kota Kemuning, Selangor. A home for a family of five, the approximate built-up area of the double-storey was 3,173 sq ft in the original state, but a minor extension on the kitchen area raised it to 3,400 sq ft.
"The clients approached us through a mutual friend. They wanted a presentable yet warm and cosy home, so they decided to go for a modern oriental style," says Lau.
