Lately we've been binge-watching series and movies on Netflix and other streaming sites at home and true enough, this has turned family movie night into a daily routine. For a safer and more heartwarming movie night with the family, we've listed down 10 highly recommended films available now on Netflix that we've enjoyed back when we were young that you could share with your kids or younger siblings.

1. The Land Before Time (1988)

Steven Spielberg and George Lucas worked together as executive producers of this 1988 animated adventure drama film directed by Don Bluth that features the age of the dinosaurs. It tells the story of how a young apatosaurus named Littlefoot was orphaned and how he embarked on a painful journey to the Great Valley together with other young dinosaurs to look for their relatives.

2. Free Willy (1993)

This 1993 American family drama film directed by Simon Wincer received commercial and critical success. It features a young foster boy who befriended a captive orca named Willy in an aquatic theme park. The film had used an animatronic stand-in for Willy for his scenes shot above water.

The real orca portraying Willy, named Keiko, was lobbied by the studio and by fans of the film to be released into the wild (just like in the movie). However, for reasons of failure to adapt to his new environment, Keiko eventually died of pneumonia on 12 December 2003.

3. Richie Rich (1994)

This 1994 American comedy film directed by Donald Petrie was based on the Harvey Comics character Richie Rich, with Macaulay Culkin as the titular character.
