‘Babae Sino Ka?’ Art Exhibit features young and upcoming female artists for Women's Month

Freedom Art Society (FAS) in partnership with the United Women Aritsts Assoication of the Philippines (UWAAP) and other various partner art groups unite in honoring women through arts in ‘Babae, Sino Ka? Isang Daang Babae, Isang Daang Obra – A Women’s Month Art Exhibit’ from March 19-31 at Fernando B. Sena, Buenas Artes Art Facility.

Emerging artist is Joannaliza Vocalan, the current Art Director for The Attic Gallery states, “It was truly an honor to be part of this art exhibit as it aims to empower women to showcase their passion through arts,” said Joanna. Her artpiece entitled ‘Kulasa Inspire’ is an upcycling installation with floral art. All items in her piece were compiled to represent her as a woman.

“Being a mom is the highlight of my life. Motherhood goes beyond childbirth. It is the realization of the strengths you didn’t know you had and that’s exactly what inspired me to create my painting.” Giselle Besana said, an inspiring artist, who will showcase her artwork entitled ‘Sisidlan’, a mixed media art piece.

One hundred women will present their art works mirroring their thought, feelings, views, dream, aspirations, and stand towards womanhood, putting their stamps on this humble endeavor. This exhibit aims to come up with a significant body of art works that will reflect women of today.
