Luxury home furnishing company Kuysen celebrates 30 years of quality, style, and innovation

Nowadays, interior design ultimately comes with the task of buying a house. Discerning dwellers can either do it themselves or require the services of an expert to make sure that the home reflects the owner’s idea. In Manila, Kuysen is one of the places where designers can get their fix for every part of the home. This year, the company celebrates 30 years of providing high-quality, stylish, and innovative design solutions that spark joy in the dwellers.

As Kuysen marches forward to a new chapter, here’s a look at the company’s history:

Before it became known for offering a plethora of luxury home furnishings, Kuysen began as a small industrial hardware store in Caloocan in 1989. The very first premium brand brought in by Kuysen Go was Tyrolit, the Austria-based Swarovski-owned pioneer in abrasives that became a domestic industry leader.

Trips to prestigious European construction exhibitions opened up the opportunity for Go to bring some of these brands home as partners. Among the first prestigious names Kuysen would import and distribute were Hansgrohe and Duravit, which to this day are the company’s flagship brands.

In 1990, Jensen Go joined the family business, and welcomed a host of internally acclaimed brands like Kaldewei, Victoria+Albert, Teka, Aquatherm, Geberit, Geesa, Schell and many more to the company’s ever growing portfolio of partners. What these brands have in common were exceptional design and  unquestionable commitment to quality. Nine years later, the 500-square meter showcase of Europe’s finest bathroom brands was opened in Glorietta 4.

By 2007, Kuysen had moved into its new corporate headquarters—an eight-storey multi-function office and showroom. The company populated the space with more offerings. The company ventured into the the tile industry with European brands Cerim from Italy and Ibero from Spain. Complementary products like Kessel and BWT for water filtration systems were added.

Then in 2013, the Kuysen-Hansgrohe flagship showroom in Eton Residences Makati opened with Philippe Grohe himself, Axor Brand Head of Hansgrohe, declaring it as prestigious as their own during his speech. It also marked the 25th year of the company.

Its latest venture was into lighting and furniture. Kuysen now proudly represents world-class brands such as Baxter, Zanotta, Living Divani, Paola Lenti, Porro, Vibia, Muuto, and Montana.

Looking towards the future, Kuysen continues to partner with more luxury brands with the aim of bringing class into more Philippine households. This year, the company is opening the Kuysen Design +Experience Center, a five-storey, two-basement interactive showroom in Bel-Air, Makati to house more illustrious names in home design.

The opening of the showroom reaffirms the company’s dedication to the Filipino homeowner and shows its commitment to the country’s booming construction industry. While Kuysen has gone through innumerable changes the past three decades of business, but the intimacy with which Kuysen relates to its clientele remains the same.
