If you’re a fan of art, you need not be constrained to the hallways of our national galleries. Although they serve as great markers and sources of inspiration, it won’t hurt to explore what more Metro Manila can offer. We round-up nine art hubs in you must check out on your next tour:


1335 Mabini

 Nestled in the heart of Ermita, 1335 Mabini brings you multi-disciplinary works of contemporary art. They support local and international artists alike through various exhibitions and programs that include but are not limited to experitmental poetry workshops, lectures, and artist residencies.  Vinyl on Vinyl

Offering exhibits on art, toys, and even music -- this hub is certainly not one to miss. Known for it's eclectic and pop-culture taste, Vinyl on Vinyl showcases contemporary works inspired by  streetlife and the underground scene.  You'll be certain to happen upon unique and quirky works when you drop by their new home at the La Fuerza Compound.

Archivo 1984

Archivo 1984 boasts a rustic and intimate spaced nested in the heart of Chino Roces Ave. Regularly offering exhibits on Philippine masters and several contemporary artists, Archivo will always have something for you to look foward to. They also have a CCP (Cultural Centre of the Philippines) shop where you'll find select goods and books.

Finale Art File

 A gallery founded in the 80's, Finale Art File is still staking its mark in the world of Philippine contemporary art. With large-scale exhibits and ambitious installations, the 450sqm space has been home to hundreds of artists -- both established and up-comers. Known for its inclination to experimental and emboldening works, Finale Art File is a defnite must-see.

 Silverlens

A failiar name in the art scene, Silverlens hosts several contemporary works in their journey to widen Philippine art. A regular in international exhibits, Filipino talent is well-represented through the gallery's continued support and various programs. Offering new ways to look at the practice and culture that shapes art, Silverlens isn't one to pass on.

Artinformal

 Established by Tina Fernandez in 2004, Art Informal is known as a champ for art education. The gallery promotes a broad range of art forms to the public - pottery, sculpture, painting, multi- media, and performances - Art Informal aims to extend arts and culture to the general public. Nearing 10 years in the scene, the gallery still soldiers on with exhibiting new works and exploring new programs to hone young aspring artists.

 Tin-Aw

A proponent for subversive art, Tin-Aw is known for its surprising pieces and provocative works. For a dose of experimental and discursive shows, drop by their gallery. Underground

Prism Art Gallery
