Pianist Cecile Licad holds a concert for a cause.

Renowned Filipina pianist Cecile Licad will perform in the Philippines for the benefit of the Philippine Italian Association Endowment fund and the US Tour of the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra in June 2016. The concert will be on January 27, 2016 at the Main Theatre of the CCP.

The concert will be held on behalf of the Philippine Italian Association Endowment Fund, which was established by its president, Zenaida Tantoco, in 2002. The fund caters to charities organised by Italian missionaries, including Servants of Charity, the Sisters Handmaids of Charity, the Canossian Sons of Charity, and Punto Cuore. These organisations provide educational, medical, food, and housing for its beneficiaries. Meanwhile, the concert will also raise funds for the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra’s tour of the US.

Cecile Licad has performed for crowds since her teenage years, and she is considered  “one of the world’s best” pianists. She has worked under the direction of distinguished conductors such as Zubin Metha of the New York Philharmonic, Kurt Masur of the Royal Philharmonic, and Sir Georg Solti of the Chicago Symphony.
