Tensions are high and excitement fills the air as the Miami Heat go up against the powerhouse LA Lakers for the 2020 NBA Bubble Finals. Tatler friends join in the conversation and tell us which team they think would likely clinch this year's Championship

The Finals has begun. It wasn't the NBA conference we have been used to – a league without the loud cheers of the fans and home-court advantages. But it is still the game we love. Today, the underdog Miami Heat takes on the LeBron James-led Lakers. Who will rise above? Will the Heat surprise us all with an upset, or will king James take home his fourth ring?

Here's what Tatler friends have to say:

Who do you think will take home the 2020 NBA Bubble Championship? Why?

The Lakers. LeBron James and Anthony Davis will be too much. They have the two best players on the court who can create points or scoring opportunities at any given time. The Lakers have the better pieces and can match up with them defensively which will be key.

Who's your Finals MVP bet?

LeBron James. As good as Anthony Davis is, it still is LeBron’s team and the finals is his moment. He wants to be the first player ever to win three finals MVPs with three different teams. He still has something to prove for his legacy.

The heavy favourites are the Lakers. With LeBron and Anthony Davis, they will be hard to beat in seven games. I know it’s a special year for the Lakers because of Kobe Bryant so good for them to win. My heart is with Miami because they are the clear underdogs and because of Eric Spoelstra who we know has Filipino lineage.

Who's your Finals MVP bet? Why?

With a Lakers win, it’s going to be LeBron.

Who do you think will take home the 2020 NBA Bubble Championship? Why?

Of course the Lakers! Why? Because they have the best player in the world... in the Universe. They have LeBron, they have Anthony Davis, Dwight Howard, Kyle Kuzma. They have all these good players... a lot of veteran and talented players. They also have great teamwork.

Who's your Finals MVP bet?

Finals MVP? I don't know... between LeBron and Anthony Davis? I guess LeBron James because he didn't win the regular season MVP, so he might strive for the finals MVP or he might just pass the torch to Anthony Davis, assuming that the Lakers will win. If not, from Miami Heat maybe Pat Riley? *chuckles* I don't know.

Armand Del Rosario is the President of Healthcare Advantage Training Institute and Agent Infinity Inc. He is also a former football player for the FC Meralco Manila.

Who do you think will take home the 2020 NBA Bubble Championship? Why?

I think LA has it but I want Miami to win. As a fan of Golden State Warriors, the Lakers are our mortal enemy and LeBron being on that team makes it even worse. The worst part is he’s so disappointed with not winning the MVP for the season that he’s extra motivated to win it in the finals.

Who's your Finals MVP bet?

It’ll be between him and Anthony Davis but his experience drive and leadership will win out over Davis.

Rovilson Fernandez is a host of GMA News TV's Ang Pinaka. He is also an environmentalist and a fitness enthusiast and often competes in triathlons, most especially the Spartan Race PH.

I’m absolutely rooting for Miami. Great underdog feel-good story of the bubble. Would like to see Pat Riley win another trophy cementing his legacy as not only a great coach, but great executive. Its “chip on my shoulder” vs. “ship on my shoulders” basketball. Butler vs. Bron. I’ll always bet on the athlete with something to prove. Ultimately coaching edge goes to Spoelstra (and how dare I root against a fellow Pinoy). Great drama ahead! Heat in 6!

Who's your Finals MVP bet?

Finals MVP—for his double-doubles and defense—it goes to Bam Adebayo.

Who do you think will take home the 2020 NBA Bubble Championship? Why?

I think that the Lakers will take home the championship this year. With everything that has happened in 2020 including the death of Kobe Bryant, they seemed most determined to honour his legacy. Couple that motivation with their strong veteran presence led by all NBA team players, they have a recipe for success.

Who's your Finals MVP bet? Why?

I predict this year's finals MVP will go to LeBron James. Even in his 17th year he is arguably the most dominant and best-conditioned player today. If he does win, he will be the first player to win a Finals MVP on three separate teams.

I admire the way the Miami Heat advanced to the finals by grinding out wins in the playoffs with teamwork, energy, and execution of game plans— plus they’re an exciting bunch to watch.  But I think the LA Lakers will win the NBA bubble championship. LeBron James and Anthony Davis are easily two of the top five players in the NBA, It will be difficult to contain them in the finals. Also, the Lakers are highly motivated to win it all for their beloved brother Kobe Bryant.

Who's your Finals MVP bet? Why?

I think LeBron James will hold up his 4th finals MVP trophy this year. He looks fresh at this point of the playoffs, maybe the lay-off before the bubble was to his advantage as he was able to recharge those 35-year old legs. He’s a generational talent, at the top of his game and still driven to build on his legacy.

Anton Del Rosario

Anton del Rosario is the owner and player for the Maharlika Manila FC and is a former member of the Philippine Football National Team, Azkals. He is also the founder of 7’s Football League and the Laro app.

Who do you think will take home the 2020 NBA Bubble Championship? Why?

As much as I hate to say it, the Lakers. They've been on point since the playoffs and looking the hungriest. Not to mention, with the passing of Kobe this year, it would be a great story and the only reason I'd support a Lakers Championship.

Who's your Finals MVP bet? Why?

LeBron James... he's made for Championship games. He's one of the best players to ever play the game and these are the times that [it] shows.

Sam Wilson is a sports enthusiast, having played multiple sports growing up. In college, he used to play for the Ateneo Blue Eagles Football Team. Nowadays, Sam can often be seen surfing in Siargao where he also manages his business, Bayatakan Farm Experience.

Who do you think will take home the 2020 NBA Bubble Championship? Why?

The Lakers are favoured to win the championship but the Heat are playing exceptional team basketball all throughout the post-season. Plus, playing in a neutral environment with no proper home-court advantage, gives the Miami Heat a more even playing field.

Who's your Finals MVP bet? Why?

All hail The King, Lebron James, if the Lakers go all the way. But if Miami does, Bam Adebayo has been killing it for south beach.
