Fusing together traditional Philippine hospitality with exquisite modern innovations, Anya Resort Tagaytay promises a most memorable stay in the countryside
Offering a welcome respite from the hectic pace of the big city, small luxury hotels in key provincial destinations are changing the game when it comes to giving guests a truly pleasurable and memorable experience. One such retreat which delivers such an experience is Anya Resort Tagaytay.
A HOME AWAY FROM HOME
Developed by the Roxaco Land Corporation, Anya Resort Tagaytay is a mere five minutes away from the Calamba Road and the drive to it courses through a small forest that opens out onto a verdant estate.
Guests are cheerfully ushered in by staff in uniforms inspired by the traditional baro’t saya and find themselves in a lobby that looks more like a homey living room with an open layout that is very conducive to rest and relaxation. Lifestyle assistants facilitate checking in as guests refresh themselves with cool, moist towels to soothe travel-weary skin and refreshing glasses of Anisha, a mix of fresh pineapple and calamansi juices with honey that is the resort’s signature drink. In colder months, the welcoming committee offers cups of rich, Spanish-style hot chocolate instead.
While it may seem that hospitality begins right upon check-in, the hardworking team at Anya Resort Tagaytay has just begun to ensure your stay is enjoyable. Whether it’s a casual getaway or an awaited celebration, the resort aims to craft a personalised visit tailored to each preference.
ROOM TO RECREATE
A stay at the Garden Suite includes a king-sized bed, deluxe bathroom, and a fully furnished living room. Feel right at home with a mini kitchenette and your own coffeemaker to complete a staycation. Who better to devise Filipino luxury than interior design firm Manny Samson and Associates, having integrated native details into surprising corners of the hotel’s expanse. From a headboard that’s been artfully printed on traditional banig to a neutral colour palette with accents of blue and capiz. Wicker chairs and printed fabrics offset marble tabletops to invite a familiar sense of home into the sophisticated.
Furnishings like a hand-carved chess set highlight the resourcefulness of in-house talents in carpentry and woodwork. This philosophy of resourcefulness is akin to sense of community. The resort sources its materials as close to home as possible. Even the ceramics that delicately encase organic shampoo emphasise a love for the region’s creativity and skilled potters.
After being ushered into one of the property’s 10 villas, guests are then given a courtesy call by their designated lifestyle assistants to fulfill unpacking requests and make reservations in nearby sights or at one of the resort’s three dining destinations.
