Apple just unveiled a variety of new products during its Spring event on April 21 (Hong Kong time). Titled, "Spring Loaded", the event took place at the company's Apple Park headquarters in California. But due to the ongoing pandemic, it was a digital-only gathering with live coverage provided.
During the event, Apple announced a line-up of new products such as iMac in various colours, a new shiny purple iPhone 12, the latest iPad Pro, an upgraded Apple TV 4K and the new AirTag. Read on to find out more about the new features of the latest products and when you can get them.
1. iMac in various colours
The new iMac boasts stunning new colourways—green, yellow, orange, pink, purple, blue and silver—as well as a much more compact and remarkably thin design thanks to the M1 chip. It's also packed with a powerful performance in a design that's just 11.5 millimetres thin. It features a 24-inch 4.5K Retina display with 11.3 million pixels, 500 nits of brightness and over a billion colours that delivers a brilliant and vivid viewing experience.
Other new features include the 1080p FaceTime HD camera, studio-quality mics and a six-speaker sound system— all the best camera and audio ever in a Mac rolled into one device. For the first time ever, Touch ID comes to the iMac, which allows users to log in securely with ease, make purchases with Apple Pay or switch user profiles with the touch of a finger.
This new release also combines the power and performance of M1 with macOS Big Sur, offering faster app launching speeds, support for a faster and more fluid performance of everyday tasks, as well as the ability to handle demanding workloads like editing 4K video and working with huge images much more swiftly.
Release: Orders start from April 30 with availability beginning in the second half of May
