Ballet Philippines kick’s off their 50th anniversary by putting on the much-loved classic, Swan Lake at the Cultural Centre of The Philippines.

We are in for a treat as Russian Mariinsky Ballet dancers Evgeny Ivanchenko (Honoured Artist of Russia 2010 and principal dancer) and Andrey Ermakov (first soloist of the Mariinsky Ballet and Honoured Artist of the Udmurt Republic 2011) will be playing the roles of Price Siegfried and Swan Queen Odette in Swan Lake. Catch these two stars on stage at the CCP with Ballet Philippines on August 30 and 31, 2019!

After these first two evening performances, the Philippines’ very own Denise Parungao and Jemima Reyes will play Odette and Odile with partners Eugene Obille and Victor Maguad as Prince Siegfried, and Ronelson Yadao as Baron Von Rothbart.

The stunning stage design for Swan Lake at the CCP was created by the lauded Eduardo Sicangco from New York’s theater scene. He has worked on Broadway, in Hollywood, for the New York City Opera, Lincoln Center, Radio City Hall, and the Brooklyn Academy of Music among others. Eduardo also worked as Master Teacher of Design at New York University (NYU) and has spent decades of scenographic work in American theaters and international design.
The performance’s light director is Jennifer Tipton. She will be in charge of transforming the CCP Main Theater stage to set the mood for a spectacular night. The internationally recognized designer won the Tony Award for Best Lighting Design in 1977 and again in 1989!
