Make way for Lightning McQueen! Cars (2006) is a movie that is set in a world where anthropomorphic talking vehicles rule. While travelling to California to race against The King (Richard Petty) and Chick Hicks (Michael Keaton) for the Piston Cup Championship, McQueen (Owen Wilson) falls out of his trailer and becomes lost in a run-down town called Radiator Springs. Together with its odd residents, McQueen realises that racing is not the only thing that matters in life.

Every movie is always good when a dog is around (yes, we're not including Francis Lawrence's I Am Legend). The Art of Racing In The Rain tells the story of Enzo, a dying golden retriever who recalls his life with owner Denny (Milo Ventimiglia).

Denny is a Formula One driver who takes Enzo in some of his rides. When the former's health begins to rapidly deteriorate, Denny drives him around the track where he used to teach.

While in there, Enzo recalls a television documentary which showcased Mongolian beliefs that after dogs die, some are reincarnated as a human. Enzo explains that he is looking forward to his new life. Eight years later, Denny—now a successful Formula One driver for Scuderia Ferrari—meets a young fan with golden hair who asks for an autograph. Denny agrees and discovers the boy's name is Enzo.

The auto racing film Thunder Alley (1967) is infused with heavy drama. The movie circles around race car driver Tommy Callahan (Fabian Forte) who is banished from professional competition due to his past accident.

Tommy meets Francie Madsen (Annette Funicello) and her boyfriend Eddie Sands (Warren Berlinger). Tommy commits himself to train Eddie in driving; however, the two begin a tense rivalry when the latter steals Tommy's girlfriend Annie Blaine (Diane McBain).

5. Christine (1983)

Your heart will skip a beat with Christine (1983), a supernatural horror film helmed by John Carpenter. The movie, which is based on Stephen King's novel of the same title, follows the changes in the lives of Arnie Cunningham (Keith Gordon) and his peers after buying a classic red and white 1958 Plymouth Fury named Christine.

Throughout the film, it is shown that the car has a life of its own and it even seems to have a possessive and jealous personality.
