Inclined to transcend the norm, Commune provides furniture that suits every way of life

Since 1972, KODA, a renowned original design manufacturer, has been providing their global clientele with innovative and distinctive furniture pieces. Seeing an opportunity for growth, third-generation members of the family decided to venture into retail. They felt that they could address the need for a brand that caters to the discerning market, one that provides for those with contemporary tastes and is constantly in pursuit of carefully curated creations. Thus, in 2011, Commune was born.

Though based in Singapore, Commune has quickly branched out to Australia, China, Malaysia, and now, the Philippines. The brand is defined by its dedication to its design and service, in creating pieces that add value to one’s daily life. It aims to be more than just a furniture collection, but to be a catalyst for lifestyles rooted in style and comfort. “We want people to be able to get together in their homes and spend time around the furniture, so the pieces are designed in a way that makes interaction conducive,” says Audrey Ngui, Brand Manager for Commune PH.

The brand expertly combines responsible craftsmanship and sophisticated design. With wood sourced ethically from sustainably-managed forests while pursuing modern, comfortable, space-saving and functional forms that appeal to design-savvy tastemakers and urbanites. Commune also provide its customers with three-dimensional floor planning to better visualise where each piece can be placed in their own home. With an understanding of the contemporary homeowner’s needs, Commune provides an array of pieces that are built to complement each lifestyle and encourage personal connections around it.
