You can now virtually experience Ayala Land's Festival of Lights on their Facebook page and feel the spirit of Christmas — but make sure to prepare tissues!

Since 2017, Ayala Land has consistently brought joy to people with their Festival of Lights at the Ayala Triangle Gardens. For some families, it's considered a tradition to come together in the evening to watch Christmas lights dance and change colours. But this year, Ayala Triangle Gardens cannot be filled with the same ardent crowd due to the current situation — which is something Ayala Land has prepared for.

Ayala Land is switching up the tradition. Recently, Ayala launched the Festival of Lights 2020: Lights and Sound Show Virtual Edition which was hosted by Issa Litton.

Instead of a physical show, guests can now experience the magic by watching the immersive and interactive 360 video of the show. "We want the viewer to feel as if she or he is standing right in the middle of the park," Ayala Land's Project Development Manager Misha Quimpo said.

"[The video was] several months in the making," Ayala Land's Head of Makati Estate Mel Ignacio shared during the launch. "[We] were aware of [the] challenges and limitations," she added. Which only made them persist on creating a new and memorable way to celebrate Christmas for their beloved guests.

Magic happened when Ayala Land teamed up with Globe Studios to create a new tradition that will have the whole family brimming with holiday spirit. Globe Studio's Executive Direction Mark Henares shared that although they initially tried to replicate the light show in the previous years, they eventually decided to transcend physical limitations by adding "unlimited fireworks and animation."

While you watch the light show transpire online, Reese Lansangan's angelic voice begins singing a medley of Christmas songs that is sure to make you emotional apart from that nostalgic feeling you often get from hearing holiday carols.

We are nearing the end of a long year and watching the Festival of Lights is like a proclamation — the best time of the year is here. It's the season of love and happiness that we all deserve to celebrate.

Along Ayala Triangle Gardens, you'll see QR codes that you can scan and it'll immediately take you to the amazing Festival of Lights online. Wherever you are, you can watch the show at any time.

Apart from the magical light show, there are cute holiday-themed Instagram filters that you can use to post on your story or make free greeting cards. These filters are constantly updated — four more filters will be added every week in December.

It's not a season of giving if there are no presents — which is why Ayala Land is giving away hundreds of prizes to anyone who wins after participating in their Finders Keepers contest.
