Filipino Art Finds New Home at Singapore Airlines’ SilverKris Lounge

Catch the amazing partnership between Singapore Airlines and Salcedo Auctions which brings forward the top artworks of local artists

Singapore Airlines, in partnership with Salcedo Auctions, celebrated its 70th anniversary at the SilverKris Lounge where they unveiled newly curated artworks by Melissa LaO and Spektacularis artists Lilianna Manahan, Gabriel Lichauco, and Stanley Ruiz.

Since it opened its doors in 2015, the SilverKris Lounge has been an avenue that recognises Filipino heritage and culture by showcasing the artworks by prominent local artists. “The SilverKris Lounge has been designed to provide travellers a feeling of home away from home. As such, we wanted our lounge in Manila to reflect the rich culture that the Philippines takes pride in”, said Singapore Airlines General Manager Philippines, Balagopal Kunduvara.

“We feel that these artists have gotten so much from their travels – inspiration and insights that have led them to think and create, and then share these insights through art”, said Salcedo Auctions Director, Richie Lerma. “Their works are ideal for the SilverKris Lounge as they exemplify art that is inspired by various destinations the world over but is uniquely Filipino at its core,” added Lerma.

The curated artworks will be exhibited at the SilverKris Lounge until May 2018 and will be available for purchase through Salcedo Private View, the private sale division of Salcedo Auctions.
